One heck of a philosophy

Some are born with knowledge. Some learn through study. Some learn with great difficulty. Some practice with natural ease. Some practice for the advantage. Some practise with strennous effort the universal way through wisdom, humanity and courage.

What then is wisdom, humanity and courage? Is it not, that unless there is sincerity, this statement is mere words?

Mencius said - "by wisdom, we mean that a person is not obsessed. By humanity we mean that he is unselfish. By courage, we mean that he has the desire to strengthen himself.

Unless a person is not obsessed and unselfish and in addition, desires to strengthen himself, he cannot be said to be practicing wisdom, humanity or courage. And through the practice of wisdom, humanity and courage, he achieves sincerity.

If he does not practice wisdom, humanity and courage to the extent that he achieves sincerity, he is not wise, humane or courageous."

When god said to treat others as your own self, it is because you achieve truthfulness by inferring the feelings of others from how you feel, you achieve reciprocity by sharing the grief and joy of others, you achieve humanity by being motivated through correctness and not through perverseness, you achieve righteousness by being respectful, you achieve propriety by avoiding mistakes, you then, achieve wisdom.

Truthfulness, reciprocity, humanity, righteousness, propriety, wisdom, humanity, courage - is there anything that is lacking?
